Hello, we’re Glowmade! We’re a small, exciting company and the goal of our games is to unlock people’s imagination and help them express themselves in wonderful, fun ways. Right now we’re busy building a new multiplayer cooperative game with an ambitious creative wrapper around it. We can’t say too much, but if you can imagine Jim Henson’s Labyrinth mashed up with Wrestlemania, then you’ll be on the right track!
This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in our expanding team. Reporting to our Senior UI/UX Designer Sam Dalton, you’ll work with them and the rest of the team to design and implement our game’s user interface.
From day one we would like you to…
- Work with our designers and artists to produce charming, high-quality UI art.
- Get involved with problem solving design issues within the UIUX team.
- Communicate with the rest of our bubbly UIUX team to receive feedback and iterate on work.
- Start getting familiar with Glowmade’s internal UI tools.
In three months you will be…
- Designing, implementing and iterating on UI across the game.
- Documenting and maintaining design specifications with team collaboration software like Confluence.
- A central, supportive member of our small team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate would…
- Have a portfolio that shows a flair for illustration alongside knowledge of graphic design principles
- Have created the UI for one or more published games.
- Be skilled in tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator or other similar prototyping tools and art software.
- Have experience working in 3D
- Have experience in creating user interfaces – IA and user flows, low fidelity wireframe, prototyping and high fidelity mockups.
- Have an eye and passion for designing accessible and usable interfaces.
- Used to working in an English speaking environment
- But we are flexible for the right candidate!
Benefits
A few more bits…
This role is a 6 month minimum contract position and relocation support is not available.
This is an opportunity for you to make a significant contribution not only to the game but to our team and the company. Everyone at Glowmade has a voice, and it’s important to us that you feel empowered and are given the time and space to use it.
We’re based in Guildford, UK, and are interested in onsite candidates. We offer competitive wages and are an actively equal opportunities employer. If all of the above sounds exciting and you think you can fill this pivotal role, please get in touch. No agencies please!
